And the Nominees for the 2014 IAWTV Awards Are…

/ Dec 13, 2013

The International Academy of Web Television has unveiled the nominees for the 2014 IAWTV Awards, an annual event designed to celebrate and honor those creating the best original online programming.

Per the IAWTV, nearly 100 shows are nominated across 35 categories. The most nominated show is CW Seed’s “Husbands,” which received 10 nominations. The next closest? The independent series “Destroy the Alpha Gammas,” which racked up five nominations. These two were followed by five shows that received four nominations each: WIGS’ “Blue”; “Thurston”; another WIGS drama “Lauren”; “The Hinterlands”; and “Super Geeked Up.”

The 2014 IAWTV Awards will take place the night of January 7, beginning at 6pm PT at the Rio All-Suites Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. The show will also be live-streamed online.

The awards show, which will essentially take place between New Media Expo and CES, will be produced in partnership with NMX.

Thank you, TheVideoInk, for informing me that my show got 3 nominations. 🙂

  • Josh

    Thank you!

  • ChadMedia

Once again the bubble dominates their own award show…

    • SimonFraser4

Y’know, not everything is a conspiracy against you.

    • April Grant

Hardly the bubble dominating. We have shows nominated from Ireland, Canada, the UK and the US. Shows also from Virginia, Atlanta, New York, LA and places in between. Some are done by students and many, many are entirely independent.

      • We are delighted that our series CUCKOO from Ireland has been nominated! Thank you !

    • Concerned Applicant

In many ways I agree though. The shows that got the most nominations were the ones that have the most connections with IAWTV and play the best politics. Not saying they’re bad shows. Just saying that equally good shows didn’t get the same consideration because they didn’t play the game well enough.

      • April Grant

You are way off the mark. I am assuming you are not aware of the changes in how nominees were chosen this year nor anything about the current board or process. As Vice-Chair I would be happy to answer any questions you might have if you contact me. otherwise it will be discussed in detail at the award ceremony on stage.

  • Masa

RoosterTeeth hopefully wins all they are nominated for, best channel on youtube!

    • stephsteph

I agree, especially with a simple walk into mordor. Chris and Kerry’s feet were in wrecks for weeks!!!

  • Christopher Calliope

Congratulations to Richard Cutting for his work in Milgram And The Faswalkers!

  • emmybm15

Go MyMusic! Even if it is just one nomination……I am proud 😀 ♡♥ also hurray for Kids react and Emma Approved. (Wasn’t completely OK with Welome to Sandition but congrats on the nomination)

  • Mathieas

I don’t recognize most of these, guess I have some catching up to do.

  • Tom Grey

Cosplay Piano! Awesome to see it nominated.
