AwesomenessTV Dives into Disney Well to Fill Vacant CMO Role
Disney Studios exec TJ Marchetti is the new chief marketing officer at AwesomenessTV, the teen-centric YouTube content producer and multi-channel network owned by Disney rival DreamWorks Animation.
In the role, Marchetti will oversee marketing and branding for all AwesomenessTV initiatives, including properties owned by the network as well as joint ventures launched in partnership with content partners. Current JVs include the Seventeen YouTube channel and MCN launched in partnership with Hearst, and All Def Digital in partnership with Russell Simmons.
Marchetti is a veteran of the digital media space. Most recently, as SVP of digital marketing at Walt Disney Studios, Marchetti oversaw digital marketing for theatrical and in-home releases from Disney-owned studios like Marvel, Pixar, Disney Animation, Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, and Lucasfilm. Prior to Disney, Marchetti spent time at the likes of MTV, IAC, Yahoo, and AOL.
