Bedrocket’s Official Comedy Channel Unveils New Slate

Bedrocket Media has launched a new series and announced production on a couple more for its Official Comedy channel on YouTube.

The series that debuts today, “Settling,” follows a group of four “twenty-nothings” as they try to grow up. The series, which features a “real-life comic strip format,” is produced by EPIX, a pay-TV channel and SVOD streaming movie service. In an interesting departure from what you normally see with serialized programming online, “Settling” will run for 100 episodes. Five new episodes will be released every Monday on Official Comedy starting today.

Starring Jon Schmidt, Joey Manderino, Nellie Barnett, and Mike Nelson, “Settling” is co-written, directed, and executive produced by Manderino (Disney Channel’s “Austin & Ally” and Hulu’s “The Morning After”) and Matt Vascellaro (“The Morning After”).

In addition to the web series, Bedrocket and Official Comedy have also launched a “Settling” Tumblr page, which will feature custom show-related GIFs created by comedian and Tumblr-er Nate Smith (Awkard Elevator and Best Nate Smith Ever).

Bedrocket and Official Comedy are also currently in production on a couple of new web series:

“Love’s a Bitch” is a web series about the messy aftermath of a breakup. Based on a college couple, Wes and Allison, as their college career comes to an end, so does their romance, and what follows is a series of embarrassing events.

“Boomerang Kids” showcases four recent college grads – Rob, Leo, Hollis, and Kevin – in a web series where they’re forced to return to their childhood homes due to lack of job prospects. The four male characters form an uneasy alliance, attempting to earn money to pay off their student loans. Their well-intended plans frequently lead to accidental misadventures, including drug dealing, prostitution, and the Armenian mob.

No word on when “Love’s a Bitch” and “Boomerang Kids” will debut on Official Comedy, which currently reaches over 165,000 subscribers on YouTube.
