It’s Official: Grace Helbig Leaves My Damn Channel
As VideoInk first reported last month, Grace Helbig, the star of My Damn Channel’s most popular web series, “Daily Grace,” is leaving the online comedy network. The news was made official via a blog post published by My Damn Channel this morning. It reads, in part:
We would like to thank Grace Helbig for a great, fun, and inspiring five-plus years. Daily Grace premiered on MyDamnChannel.com in 2008 and we brought it to YouTube in October 2010. We have had the privilege of witnessing her talent first hand, and week in and week out, she has never ceased to impress us. Unfortunately, our current multi-year deal with Grace expires today, and while we were hoping to continue our formal relationship, she has decided to move on to other ventures.
We will continue to make the Daily Grace archives available on YouTube.com/DailyGrace, and plan to upload hundreds of additional Daily Grace videos that have never before been available on YouTube.
It’s unclear exactly what Helbig has planned for 2014 as details are still emerging. What we do know is that Helbig is likely to build out her other YouTube channel, ItsGrace, which currently has 97K subscribers. In any case, as evidenced by her starring role in the independent feature film, “Camp Takota,” brand partnerships with the likes of Windows Phone and St. Ives, and even winning MTV’s Vlogger of the Year, Helbig’s positioned well for 2014.
