Mobile Revenue Matches U.S. Box Office

While movies may still be a big deal in the United States, their success could very well be eclipsed by that of mobile entertainment…if you believe the current statistics.
Re/code has reported that, between tablets and smartphones, mobile entertainment has managed to generate $9.14 billion in revenue over the past year. That total comes rather close to the $10.35 billion that American moviegoers spent purchasing tickets in that same year, per numbers compiled by SNL Kagan.
