Social Media Week is running full steam in sunny Los Angeles, California. And whether you’re a business, startup, “personality,” or just an individual interested in all things online video, this is the event for you. But with hundreds of panels to attend, how will you know what presentations you should be going to?

Video: The Natively Social Media with Chris Mohney from Maker Studios, Tuesday, 2:00 PM – 2:30 PM

Hosted by Maker Studios, this session will dive into the future of digital video and the ecosystem that content creators will soon be living in. Focusing on the upcoming “golden age of shows,” Mohney will examine how online video uses social media or if it should even use it at all.

Master Class: The Social (VIDEO) Network — Unlock YouTube for Brand Success, Tuesday, 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM

This session will feature a panel of top brands and creators who have worked on and behind several successful YouTube video campaigns. The Social (VIDEO) Network class will focus around how brands can efficiently and accurately use YouTube without limiting audiences.

Breakfast with Mark Suster: The Future of Hollywood and the Importance of Internet Video, Wednesday, 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM

Join VC Mark Suster as he speaks about internet video’s place among the current and future Hollywood ecosystem. Suster is a partner at Upfront Ventures, a company that has invested in startups such as Maker Studios,, and DataSift.

Tech + Media Roundtable: What Influences the Influencers?, Wednesday, 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM

The Tech + Media Roundtable will feature key influencers like Dean Takahashi and Phil Carpenter discussing trending social media topics and the best Los Angeles startups.

Angels, VCs, Crowdfunding, and the Future of Investing, Wednesday, 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM

What is the right way to raise money for your startup? This session covers both sides of the debate as both an investor and someone looking for an investor. Key topics will include how to connect with accredited investors and the ins and outs of raising funds on crowdsourcing sites.

Promoting Digital Series Via Social Media, Thursday, 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM

JTS.TV will host this panel with top creators and executives working within the online video industry. Attendees will hear true stories of successful (and not so) social media campaigns from industry leaders like JTS.TV’s Carter Mason and Jenni Powell of Geek & Sundry and “The Lizzie Bennet Diaries.”

Online Video as the New Mainstream, Thursday, 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM

Featuring experts from YouTube channel I am Other, Comedy Central, and YouTube, this session will cover the rise of online video as well as how it is reaching audiences in ways that traditional television simply cannot.

Can YouTube Predict the Emmy Winners?, Friday, 10:00 AM – 10:30 AM

Hosted by ZEFR, who recently released a fairly accurate prediction of Emmy winners based on YouTube views, this panel will cover what fan-created content online says about traditional television and vice versa.

It’s Not About Likes. It’s About Engagement, Friday, 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM

Ford Motor Co. is hosting this session, which will focus on engaging audiences via social media and digital campaigns much like the Ford Fiesta Movement. Key talking points will include why brands must allows talent to speak in their own voice and not that of the brand.

A Conversation with Michelle Phan and Rocsi Diaz of Entertainment Tonight, Friday, 3:00 PM – 3:30 PM

Featuring YouTube beauty guru Michelle Phan, this session will examine how social media is changing the beauty industry as well as why top influencers like Phan must use platforms like Instagram and Twitter to keep their audiences engaged and inspired.
