Strawburry17 Ups Production Value and Hopes for TV
Strawburry17, whose real name is Meghan Camarena, came to VideoInk’s pop-up VidCon studio with news of her exciting re-launch. Having spent the past five months planning out her YouTube channel’s schedule, she was ready to divulge information on the production and the content.
As far as production goes, everything on her channel was shot on red cameras, so the quality’s high. Camarena explained that this helped gear her video work to TV. Having seen YouTube shows get picked up and brought straight to television, just as they were shot for the digital platform, Camarena sees this accomplishment as “the biggest compliment.” She explained, “We want [TV networks] to come and look at our YouTube channel and not have to make a single edit” before shuffling the content over to television. Believing that the online video industry is “on the brink of something really big,” Camarena’s television aspirations may very well come true. “TV and traditional media are taking notice,” she said.
On the content side, Camarena is sprinkling in a little bit of everything, posting nine shows that go up on her channel on a weekly basis.
