The Top Five Emerging Gaming Channels on YouTube
Gaming on YouTube — has there ever been anything that took off so fast? From Let’s Play videos to gameplay tutorials, gaming on YouTube is by far one of the largest genres on the platform. In fact, of the top 10 most subscribed YouTubers, three are either gamers or have some gaming component in their channels.
The condensed version: Gaming on YouTube is Godzilla, the king of monsters, big.
But with any saturated market, the ability to rise above is becoming increasingly more difficult for YouTube gamers across the world. It’s why this week’s emerging YouTube gaming channels list is so impressive. These are creators who, despite the mammoth amount of game channels on YouTube, have still managed to outshine the rest.
“As the gaming industry continues to demonstrate explosive growth and product innovation, creators like the ones in this list are leveraging the opportunities for enhanced entertainment experiences,” says Kati Sabatino, Vice President/Director, Social.Content, DigitasLBi.
From an advertising standpoint, gamers are also a proverbial gold mine for brands searching to reach a specific demographic. Sabatino spoke to this and the risks that some companies must take when creating content with gamers: “For brands that partner with a YouTube creator in the gaming space, authenticity is key. The work should embrace the established style and tone that has contributed to such a loyal fan community. That said, marketers should be prepared that it may push the boundaries of what’s typically been ‘comfortable’ for the brand.”
In partnership with Outrigger Media and DigitasLBi, with data from Outrigger’s OpenSlate platform and it Emerging Talent Tracker tool, we’re here to let you know which gamers are rising on YouTube faster than Donkey Kong’s rolling barrels. Put down that controller and take a peek at the top five emerging gaming channels on YouTube (in time for the holidays, too, we might add).
