Tim Mahlman Talks Vidible’s Future as Video Content Destination
Vidible’s Co-Founder and President, Tim Mahlman, spoke with us at DigitasLBi Newfronts about his company. He broke it down by noting how the video content exchange platform offers the ability for content owners to streamline how they syndicate their video content and helps publishers easily discover video.
Syndication has historically been done through distribution networks. Now, there is more control and ownership of content syndication. Three benefits have been given to content owners: One, they can see exactly where their content is being distributed. Two, they have a better understanding of analytics and what content they should produce. And three, they have the ability to streamline and effectively scale the ability to syndicate their content.
Vidible aims to be the destination of video content. Hence, they eliminate the risk of users embedding codes of existing content from a site like YouTube. Plus, the Vidible audience calls for two to four-minute clips. Mahlman also explained that there is no advertising on the site. He noted, “By just being a strictly syndicated platform, it allows us to really focus on what we really need to do, which is be the pipeline to create more syndication in places where it isn’t today.”
