Top 5 Emerging Beauty Channels on YouTube

/ Oct 20, 2014

“Beauty and style is one of the fastest growing verticals on YouTube,” according to Kate Ritchie, the senior marketing manager at Outrigger Media. The nature of the content allows for an abundance of regular posts, as there’s always new makeup trends to be tried as well as new holidays and seasons to dress for.

Speaking of which, Halloween’s on the horizon, a tentpole event for makeup artists on YouTube to revel in…along with the beauty brands such creators showcase in their videos.

“Seasonal content, like the current Halloween and DIY costume videos, are ripe for brand advertisers — especially those looking to reach teen and millennial women,” explained Ritchie.

As such, the following millennial emerging YouTube talent (picked out by Outrigger Media’s Emerging Talent Tracker tool) have some creepy looks to show off, side by side with a dash of fall-inspired decor and the usual makeup hauls.

Total subscriber numbers are current as of October 20, but SlateScore and monthly views were counted as of October 17.

5. Beauty at Tiffany’s

  • SlateScore: 353
  • Total Subs: 6,021
  • Monthly Views: 22,680

Tutorials and product hauls mark this channel, which showcases a variety of more upscale makeup brands. Tiffany also features a monthly “Ipsy vs. Birchbox” video, in which she opens up makeup packages she receives from having a subscription to both product lines.

4. CrystalFaith17

  • SlateScore: 356
  • Total Subs: 7,672
  • Monthly Views: 67,260

Let’s call this an “edgier” beauty channel because of the videos focusing on the creator’s tattoos and piercings. Besides that, she performs many of the usual style hauls, features outsfits by the season, and shows viewers how to do makeup for various everyday occasions, like clubbing and being an eighties rocker.

3. OttaMakeup

  • SlateScore: 435
  • Total Subs: 17,080
  • Monthly Views: 161,220

This makeup artist has some serious talent, which becomes immediately apparent thanks to her Halloween makeup tutorial. Tentpole events like this ghoulish holiday are great ways for beauty gurus to show viewers their chops on YouTube, and Otta goes all out, creating videos that are unique because of the creepy ambience she maintains via background music. Though she speaks Italian, you don’t have to in order to understand her videos.

2. Glitterglam95

  • SlateScore: 440
  • Total Subs: 19,141
  • Monthly Views: 12,142

“Glitterglam” definitely gets the power of tentpole content, even dressing up her channel’s banner for Halloween. Specializing in DIY, this YouTube creator covers room decor and school lunches alike, all in very vivid color schemes.

1. Stunnerbabe15

  • SlateScore: 447
  • Total Subs: 34,342
  • Monthly Views: 49,373

This YouTube beauty guru categorizes her videos into clear sections, like hauls, tutorials, school videos, collection videos, and unboxing videos. Her channel’s got pretty much everything beauty-wise covered, and she caters to her target demographic, female high school students, perfectly (takes one to know one).
