YouTube Music Awards: Finding a Silver Lining in the Chaos
Last night, YouTube had its first annual YouTube music awards (YTMA). Social media is always abuzz when YouTube tries something new like a new homepage or Comedy Week. Last night’s awards show was no exception. I had a front row seat to the live show from the YouTube Space LA and the mood inside was awkward at best and angry at worst. I personally felt that the show was full of flaws, some amusing (crying babies) and some offensive (mispronouncing DeStorm’s name), but there were redeeming moments that should be recognized and built upon for next year.
