Chelsea Crockett has a new series...on TV

Chelsea Crockett, best known as BeautyLiciousInsider on YouTube, has made the move to TV with a new reality series, “BeautyLicious: Offline,” airing tonight on HLN at 10pm ET. The series stars Crockett’s whole family, from her business-minded father to her girl-obsessed younger brother, in the usual reality TV format. You can watch a preview below:

HLN is airing Crockett’s new show as part of a larger aim to appeal to the YouTube generation. The network recently debuted “Jack Vale: Offline,” which follow YouTube creator Jack Vale as he pulls of various pranks with his family members, a natural expansion from his digital, prank-focused content.

To learn more about Crockett, who is repped by Big Frame, and her upcoming show, read what she had to say about creating for TV as opposed to the web and how she became successful through YouTube.

When you started beauty vlogging, did you at all expect/hope for it to become a career?

I started YouTube as a passion but didn’t expecting anything really in return. So when I started seeing people actually viewing my videos, it was the coolest thing!

When did your family start getting involved in the BeautyLicious business?

My dad first got started in my business before the rest of my family. As soon as my dad noticed potential in my YouTube channel, he wanted to help out on the business side as much as possible.

Could you tell us a bit about how “Beautylicious” came to TV, and to HLN specifically?

HLN had great success in the offline series, and in wanting to extend this franchise they reached out to my dad. We made it happen!

What are some of the major differences making a show for TV vs. videos for YouTube?

As far as differences, TV is mostly someone else directing you. With YouTube, you are the judge of everything you put online. What I’ve learned to love about TV is the fact that there are more creatives to collaborate with and exchange ideas.

How do you factor your religion into your work? How do you think it’s affected your fan base?

I’d say I do have strong beliefs, and I love to share that online. I don’t want to be a different person offline than I am online, so I try to incorporate every aspect of my life into my videos. I think the fact that I do share that I have a relationship with God gives other girls an example online to follow their beliefs and to not be afraid as to what others may think of you.

To what do you attribute your success on YouTube?

I’d say the biggest part is my viewers. They’ve grown up with me on YouTube and probably know me better than I know myself. My family also supports my channel, as do my friends, and I do owe a lot of my success to my beliefs as well.
