2015 Vancouver Web Fest Now Open for Submissions
As of August 20, Vancouver Web Fest is accepting submissions for its annual event. Running from March 6 to 8 on Vancouver’s Granville Island, the festival will take into account digital talent from all over the world.
Categories include comedy, animation, action/adventure, horror, documentary, reality, and more. This year, VWF has added three, new award opportunities, recognizing excellence in cinematography, directing, and original score. Of course, since the ceremony takes place in Vancouver, there’s a category honoring the best Canadian digital content, as well.
The 2015 VWF will also host digital filmmaker workshops and aim to foster networking opportunities for its attendees. Among these attendees, heads of digital distribution platforms will show up to hear pitches from the festival’s 2015 selected submissions.
As stated by Paula Hoffman, VWF’s director of development, “The success of VWF2014 has given us access to even more industry leaders…They will be discussing the future of web content, in relation to mainstream media as well as how it can become a sustainable industry in its own right.”
Suzette Laqua, VWF’s executive director, founded the festival in 2013. To learn more about submission details, check out its website.Tags: 2015 vancouver web fest, award ceremony, Canada, Vancouver Web Fest
