The Rolling Stones: Now Live…on Facebook
Joining Katy Perry and Paul McCartney before them, The Rolling Stones have released their concert footage and documentaries on Facebook. Streaming through Screenburn, a Facebook VOD platform, The Rolling Stones’ video content will also be available to buy straight from their Facebook page.
As of now, an app on said Facebook page will let Rolling Stones fans stream their official concerts and docs online. Shows like the “Sweet Summer Sun” reunion in Hyde Park and “Live at the Checkerboard” from 1981 in Chicago may also show up on fans’ newsfeeds.
Documentaries available through the app include “Crossfire Hurricane” and “Stones in Exile.” Eagle Rock Entertainment presides over many of the Stones’ video debuts, thus the company is working with Screenburn to stream and monetize the band’s video content on Facebook.
Screenburn Media gained $500,000 in recent angel investments to make work like this possible. Tom Raffe founded and directs the London start-up.
