‘What’s Trending’ and Ford to Bring Back the ‘Tube-A-Thon’ in December

/ Dec 1, 2014

The third annual “Tube-A-Thon” will take place on December 11 at Siren Studios in Hollywood. Organized by the Emmy-nominated online talk show “What’s Trending” in partnership with Ford, the event will bring together various celebrities (from YouTube and Hollywood alike) to help raise funds for The Covenant House, a charity that houses homeless youth throughout the Americas.

“Tube-A-Thon,” which will once again be hosted by Shira Lazar, will stream live from 7-9pm PT on YouTube. Additionally, the event will make its first TV appearance, with an edited, one-hour version to air on AXS TV.

As in previous years, the event will raise money for The Covenant House through tweets. Every time someone tweets with the hashtags #Tubeathon or #GoFurther, What’s Trending and Ford will donate $1 to the charity serving homeless youth.

YouTubers such as Trevor Moran, Timothy DeLaGhetto, Kingsley, Destorm Power, and Alphacat will make appearances during Tubeathon, in addition to a slew of other performers (such as Andy Milonakis, who recently signed with Endemol).

Furthermore, the “Tube-A-Thon” team has partnered with Comedy Gives Back, which is providing many of the event’s stand-up acts, and the crowdfunding platform Tiltify, which will also raise money for The Covenant House and stream the special on Twitch.
