Animalist Is Going to the Westminster Dog Show

/ Feb 5, 2014

The Animalist video network has announced coverage plans for the 2014 Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in New York.

Alex Farnham, host of Animalist’s flagship news program “Animalist News,” will travel to Madison Square Garden and produce a series of segments from the annual competition, which is scheduled to take place from February 10-11.

Video topics will include:

How to Work Westminster Like a Boss: Alex Farnham arrives at the dog show with some tips from award-winning dog owner Mary Oslund on what not to say or do at a dog show. Hint: Say “bitch”. A lot.

The Truth About Dog Shows: Alex Farnham interviews passionate dog owners, handlers, and judges to clear up any misconceptions the outside world may have about dog shows.

These Dogs Are Better Groomed Than You: A peek behind the over-the-top grooming and pampering of show dogs and the love owners have for their canine companions.

Westminster’s Weirdest Rules: You wouldn’t believe some of the rules dog owners have to abide by. Alex finds out what they are, why they actually make sense, and where the rules came from in the first place!

A Cat Person in a Dog-Show World: Alex recaps what he’s learned from his first ever Westminster experience, then ventures into the arena (in the character of a Cat Fanatic) to see just how cat-friendly the Westminster actually is.

The Mix Breed vs. Purebred Debate: Alex interviews a PETA official to learn why they look down upon Westminster and dog shows in general. The response will be balanced with the opinions of Westminster participants.

If you somehow were unaware of this, Animalist is owned and operated by Discovery Digital Networks, a division of Discovery Communications.
