AOL Promotes Tal Simantov to Lead Global Video Expansion
As the newly promoted vice president of global video strategy for The AOL On Network, Tal Simantov has been tasked with leading AOL On’s global video expansion efforts in 2014. Via a blog post from AOL Video president Ran Harnevo:
“Having proven success in the US and Canada (with more than 300% growth this past year!), and with new markets waiting and ready for a premium video experience, I am very pleased that Tal Simantov will be leading our international efforts to take the AOL On brand global as VP, global video strategy. Tal is working closely with Graham Moysey, head of international, and will unveil our first international launch for 2014 in Q1.”
Simantov was previously the GM of AOL On and the CMO of The AOL On Network. He and Harnevo also go way back, having co-founded 5min with him, which was later purchased by AOL. According to Harnevo, Simantov led the post-5min acquisition rebranding effort, which resulted in the creation of AOL On.
Per Harnevo’s blog post, Simantov will continue to lead all marketing efforts for The AOL On Network in his new role. His and AOL’s overall goal for 2014: “being no. 1 in video globally.”
