AP Renews Online Video Deal with NDN
NDN currently distributes AP videos to “thousands” of digital publishers, including most newspaper websites in the US, the Atlanta-based company said.
Per its initial deal with AP in 2010, NDN took control of the news outlet’s digital video network and gave AP-affiliated companies access to its hosted video platform, which offers videos from “hundreds” of premium content sources including the AP as well as the opportunity to serve and monetize those videos.
“AP has seen impressive growth on NDN’s platform,” said Dave Gwizdowski, AP’s VP for revenue for the Americas, in a statement. “We set an all-time record for AP content on the NDN platform in the third quarter, nearly doubling traffic from a year ago.”
Other tools will also be made available, including a “semantic matching” option that allows publishers to quickly add relevant videos (based on matching text/topic) from the AP and other outlets to any AP story page — and so increase revenues via additional video ads.Tags: AP, Associated Press, digital distribution, NDN, new distribution network, News, syndication
