Online comedy network Above Average’s newest originals slate includes two new animated show and one returning live-action show.

“Monkey Love” tells the story of Ms. Pickles, a male chimpanzee who likes to dress up as a human woman and go on dates with human men, who find her irresistible.

Written and directed by the sketch comedy group Captain Hippo, the series’ voice-over talent is a who’s who of comedy names including Aidy Bryant, Kate McKinnon, and Mike O’Brien from the current “Saturday Night Live” cast, Jeff Goldblum, Tim Meadows, Tim Robinson, Paula Pell, and Rich Sommer. Captain Hippo’s Michael Antonucci did the animation with Paul Briganti, Kevin Mead, Steve Levine, Daniel Spenser, and Andrew Ford serving as voice-over directors.

Above Average has ordered a six-episode season, premiering on March 11, with new episodes rolling out every Tuesday.

Created and written by NY-based sketch group The Bilderbergers, which has created stuff for Above Average before, the series will premiere on Wednesday, March 12. Lasting three episodes, new installments will debut every Wednesday.

The series is narrated by Will Hines with animation from Mack Williams of Pig Apple Productions. Josh Poole produced for Above Average.

The returning show, “Commentary On,” focuses on different attendees of the same party. Across the new six-episode season, the series will analyze and parody the different types of party-goers we’re all familiar with.Above Average CO_0201_VideoInk

The show comes from another NY sketch group, Reverse Cowboys. The season is written and produced by James McCarthy and Jared Lapidus, who also directed and edited. Producers include Noam Harry and Josh Poole for Above Average.

Premiering on March 13, new episodes will debut every Thursday.

Here’s a trailer:

All shows will be available on AboveAverage.com and the comedy network’s YouTube channel. All three sketch groups named above have ties to the UCB Theatre, which as you now by now has a fruitful relationship with Above Average and parent Broadway Video.
