Big Frame’s Wonderly to Launch First Scripted Series Tomorrow

Wonderly, a Big Frame media brand focusing on quirky content for a predominantly female audience (I’m told to think: Tumblr meets Etsy), is launching its first scripted series tomorrow.

“Edge of Normal,” as the show is called, follows six teenage girls with superpowers as they team up to protect each other from bad guys — literally (all of the evildoers are men, including one especially “out-of-control” dad).

The series is created, written, and directed by Amanda Overton, a recent USC film graduate. It stars Anna Rubley, Devin Brooke, Nik Isbelle, and Sarah Colbert, actresses who have appeared in a variety of online and TV series, as well as indie films. The series will consist of six, six-minute-long episodes distributed weekly via Wonderly’s website and YouTube channel.

Update: Okay so there has been some confusion on how the series should be credited. So here we go: Big Frame wasn’t involved in the development of “Edge of Normal.” The company acquired the series from Overton, who developed and produced it alongside Tiffany L. Gray and Samantha Covington.
