Blip and My Damn Channel Begin Co-Production Deal with ‘Daddy Knows Best’
In advance of Blip’s Newfront presentation in the spring, the company announced a deal with My Damn Channel to co-produce, distribute, and sell ads for four original web series. The shows covered in the deal included the sixth season of David Wain’s “Wainy Days” and the second season of the Steve Rannazzisi-starring “Daddy Knows Best.”
Today the partners have announced that “Daddy Knows Best” will be the first of the four series to premiere exclusively on Blip and My Damn Channel. The 10-episode second season will continue to follow Rannazzisi’s character, who is described as a terrible father who can’t stop lying to his wife, played by Jade Catta-Preta.
All 10 episodes will be released at once on September 30. Following a 30-day exclusive window for Blip and My Damn Channel, the show will be distributed to other platforms, including YouTube. “Wainy Days” and two other series currently in development will receive the same windowed distribution model.
“Daddy Knows Best” is created by Rannazzisi (Kevin from “The League”) and Jeff Danis and Ryan O’Neill. Danis and O’Neill also serve as co-writers and co-directors. The show is executive produced by Lowell Shapiro and Mike Dill, Black Box Management, in association with Rob Barnett and Warren Chao for My Damn Channel and Rick Rey for Blip Studios.
