Bravo to Launch ‘Padma’s Picks,’ Bring Back ‘Last Chance Kitchen’ for Season 11 of ‘Top Chef’
Over the past couple of years, Bravo has expanded its hit “Top Chef” reality competition series into a multi-platform video franchise. The network’s “Last Chance Kitchen” web series, which allows eliminated contestants to fight their way back into the competition, even received a couple of Emmy nominations last year.
Now Bravo is looking to expand its digital video input and the “Top Chef” franchise with another web series. In advance of the 11th season premiere of “Top Chef” on October 2 at 10pm ET/PT, Bravo will launch “Padma’s Picks,” which will debut this Wednesday on BravoTV.com and run for six episodes.
Hosted by “Top Chef” host and judge Padma Lakshmi, “Padma’s Picks” will feature 10 “of the best and brightest” chefs in New Orleans and give them the opportunity to become a contest on the 11th season of “Top Chef,” which takes place in New Orleans. The web series will feature head-to-head battles across its six episodes, with the final winner getting a spot on the 11th season roster. Both “Padma’s Picks” and the final challenge is sponsored by Cigna.
Bravo is also bringing “Last Chance Kitchen” back for a third season. It will once again be hosted by “Top Chef” judge and celebrity chef Tom Colicchio and sponsored by Toyota.Tags: Bravo, Cigna, Last Chance Kitchen, Padma Lakshmi, Padma's Picks, Tom Colicchio, Top Chef, Toyota
