BroadbandTV Inks Multi-Year Original Content Deal with FremantleMedia
Under the arrangement, BBTV and Tiny Riot are initially working together to co-create five new pilots, ahead of fully co-producing an ongoing series of “popular content.” The pilots are already in development, and will be distributed on the “most appropriate platforms” owned or operated by either company.
FMNA’s deal with BBTV is the second of its kind for the company, which has long been known for producing and distributing reality-TV hits ranging from “American Idol” to “The Price Is Right” and “The X-Factor.” Earlier in the year, FMNA inked a deal with another MCN operator, the beauty-focused StyleHaul, to produce original content over multiple years.
This isn’t the tie-up between BBTV and FMNA, either. The latter uses BBTV’s Viso Novi content-management system to track and manage fan-uploaded clips of more than 200 FremantleMedia TV shows.
BBTV and Fremantle are sister companies under the RTL Group umbrella, which last year invested $36 million in BBTV. That was the first in a planned series of investments RTL Group plans to make in BBTV, the company said.Tags: BroadbandTV, Content Deal, FremantleMedia North America, MCN, RTL Group, YouTube Creators
