Canadian MCN BroadbandTV to Expand to the Persian Gulf
Vancouver-based BroadbandTV plans to expand its YouTube network to the Persian Gulf. The company will seek to partner with media companies in the region to manage their YouTube presence, including administering rights-management services for fan-uploaded content using their IP.
Full plans will be unveiled during BroadbandTV Shahrzad Rafati’s keynote address at CABSAT, a regional digital media conference that will take place from March 11-13 in Dubai.
BroadbandTV’s network currently encompassess 15,000 content partners, including major media businesses like the NBA and A+E Networks, with a total reach of 1.5 billion monthly views worldwide.
The company is also notable for closing a $36 million initial funding round from European broadcast conglomerate RTL Group last June.Tags: BroadbandTV, CABSAT, MCN, RTL Group, Shahrzad Rafati, youtube
