BroadbandTV Reboots Its Gaming Network with More Original Content
Vancouver-based YouTube media company BroadbandTV is rebooting its gaming network, TGN, with a focus on making it the premier destination for gamers and their fans on YouTube.
According to its founder and CEO Shahrzad Rafati, BroadbandTV plans to make a “broad range of investments” in the brand across multiple areas including original content and its creator community.
The reboot begins with the launch of nine new shows on YouTube, two live shows on Twitch, and the creation of more than 1,000 “digital assets” to serve gaming creators and fans. Shows launching soon on YouTube include: “PlayTime,” an interview series in which a host invites three gamers to a studio to discuss gaming topics and play mini-games; “Gaming in Real Life,” a sketch comedy series that explores what it would be like if the real world was more like game worlds, and “Underground,” a series that spotlights games that players might not be familiar with.
In addition to new original content, Rafati said BroadbandTV is also building a “stronger core destination” for gamers to watch content and interact with each other, and placing an increased focus on the network’s “partner experience team.”
BroadbandTV’s multi-channel network is comprised of more than 20,000 creators, generating over 2.5 billion impressions per month, according to the company.Tags: BroadbandTV, gaming, MCN, Shahrzad Rafati, YouTube Creators
