Bunim/Murray Productions Names John P. Roberts Chief Digital Officer
Former Endemol executive John P. Roberts has been named chief digital officer of Bunim/Murray Productions. In the role, he will oversee the production company’s digital division BMP Digital.
Specifically, Roberts is tasked with increasing the number of digital-focused productions at Bunim/Murray, including content made for the web, mobile, and connected-TV platforms. He will also explore digital business and investment opportunities for Bunim/Murray, the company said.
Roberts’ “extensive experience in digital and multi-platform production will help us continue to grow our digital initiatives and overall media footprint and extend our brands across multiple platforms,” said Gil Goldschein, president of Bunim/Murray Productions, in a statement.
At Endemol, Roberts was responsible for developing digital and commercial business opportunities in North America, and oversaw original digital productions, interactive TV, social games, and mobile apps. His projects included “Azeroth Choppers,” a digital reality-competition series in partnership with Blizzard Entertainment.
Separately, Bunim/Murray’s director of digital media Kesila Childers has been promoted to VP of BMP Digital. She will continue to oversee digital extensions of on-air Bunim/Murray programs like “The Real World” and “Best Ink,” as well as other original digital content and social media initiatives. She will report to Roberts.Tags: BMP Digital, Bunim/Murray Productions, Endemol, Exec Moves, John P. Roberts, Kesila Childers, Movers
