CDS Goes to Cable to Fill Chief Revenue Officer Role

To fill its vacant chief revenue officer role, Collective Digital Studio, which regularly promotes its ability to take online video creators to traditional media, is now bringing in someone from cable TV. The company has named veteran TV sales executive, Scott Weller, to the position.

Weller comes to CDS after 25 years at Turner Broadcasting, where he most recently served as SVP and national sales manager at CNN. There, he managed sales development across CNN’s portfolio of networks and digital properties, including CNN, Headline News, CNN.com, and CNN Mobile.

“Scott’s years of experience in the cable industry have uniquely prepared him for the world of online video,” said Michael Green, chairman of Collective Digital Studio, in a statement. “He was an early driver in architecting multi-platform sponsorship deals including TV, print, digital, and mobile. Scott is the best person to help CDS continue to grow our partnerships with brands; identify the best opportunities for them to engage audiences of our multi-channel network across all categories; and drive ROI.”

Weller will replace Alex Angeledes, who left CDS a few months ago to join Google, where he serves as industry director of media and entertainment.

Recent web-to-traditional deals executed by CDS include bringing “Epic Meal Time” to A+E’s FYI Network, and a feature-length film starring pranksters VitalyzdTV, Roman Atwood, and Dennis Roady.

CDS brand partners include Purina and Hormel Black Label Bacon.
