Chris Jericho Adds ‘Web Series Star’ to List of Accomplishments
Professional wrestler Chris Jericho has been trying his hand at a new gig — acting. In his recent web series, “But I’m Chris Jericho,” the former wrestler pursues acting in the face of the industry’s many difficulties, from lame agents to frustrating commercial auditions.
Andy Kindler of “Bob’s Burgers” and Scott Thompson of “The Kids in the Hall” also feature in the series, which can be seen on butimchrisjericho.com and action-tv.ca. The show is now also available for purchase on iTunes, at $9.99 for the whole first season.
“But I’m Chris Jericho” includes 10 episodes. It takes advantage of the digital format with episode ranging from under five to over 10 minutes each. Though the first “Undisputed WWF Champion” plays a more down-on-his luck version of himself in the show, in real life, Jericho is a jack of all trades, hosting game shows, podcasts, and lead singing in the rock band Fozzy.
Insight Production Company Ltd. produced “But I’m Chris Jericho” with Shaw Media. John Brunton and Barbara Bowlby executive produced. Jericho himself counts among the writers and creators, Gary Rideout Jr., Bob Kerr, and Craig Brown.Tags: Andy Kindler, Chris Jericho, insight production company, iTunes, Scott Thompson, Shaw Media, web series, wwe, wwf, wwf champion
