Coachella 2014 Coming to YouTube and AXS TV
Not attending Coachella? YouTube and Mark Cuban’s AXS TV have you covered. For the first time, both weekends of the annual music festival, held in Coachella Valley, California, will be broadcast live — the first weekend via YouTube, the second on AXS TV.
Jason Bentley, KCRW music director and host of “Morning Becomes Eclectic,” will emcee the entire broadcast, as well as conduct artist interviews and co-produce “exclusive editorial segments.”
A complete lineup of performances is still being finalized, but if nothing else, watch for the Outkast reunion.
Coachella 2014 begins on the weekend of April 12, with T-Mobile on board as the presenting sponsor for the YouTube-cast. Part of T-Mobile’s deal with Goldenvoice, the organizers behind Coachella, and YouTube is to offer various exclusive clips from the show, including select performances, artist interviews, behind-the-scenes footage, on demand for weeks after the initial stream. The YouTube-cast will be available on Coachella’s channel as well as its website.
Then, the following weekend, AXS TV will step up to the plate. The TV broadcast will feature 20 hours of live coverage, including select performance footage and artist interviews.
