DCNF: ‘Comedians in Acuras Getting Coffee’: Exclusive Sponsorship
“Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee,” the popular web series created by Jerry Seinfeld, will be back on Crackle and its own website for the course of four, new seasons, totaling 24 new episodes. All of the new episodes now have Acura as their exclusive sponsor, which makes sense for a show with cars featured prominently enough to make it into the title.
The deal covers seasons six through nine of the series, the first of which begins after the formerly announced fourth and fifth seasons of the award-winning show. Those are set to launch early this summer and fall, respectively.
Since debuting in July of 2012, “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” has earned over 40 million views and featured top-tier comedic guest stars, including Mel Brooks, Alec Baldwin, Louis CK, and, of course, Jason Alexander, Jerry’s former “Seinfeld” co-star.
The series also got Seinfeld a Primetime Emmy nomination in the Outstanding Special Class, Short-Format Nonfiction Programs category as well as two Webby Awards from 2014 in the areas of Best Individual Performance (both the Webby itself and the People’s Voice Award).
The show has already gained recognition for its partnership with Acura, too. “Comedians in Cars” achieved the Bronze Telly Award in 2014 for Branded Content with Acura. An example of fitting branded content, the luxury car company fits in seamlessly to the Crackle-based show’s “sets.” The deal between Acura and Seinfeld was brokered on the executive producer’s behalf through the Creative Artists Agency.Tags: Acura, brand deal, Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, Crackle, Jerry Seinfeld, web series
