Kin Community to Manage Nelvana’s ‘Max & Ruby,’ ‘Babar’ on YouTube
Per the deal, Kin Community will look to drive new audiences and increase engagement for Nelvana content, which includes clips from or associated with hit children’s TV series like “Max & Ruby,” “Franklin and Friends,” “Babar,” “The Adventures of Badou,” and “The Berenstain Bears.”
Kin Community, formerly known as Deca, is a lifestyle-oriented multi-channel network that represents creators across food, health, beauty, parenting, home, and entertainment verticals. The company boasts 28 million network subscribers and 5 billion lifetime views on YouTube.
“Views of Nelvana’s brands on YouTube are accelerating quickly, and Kin’s world class YouTube analytics and insights ensures that we maximize the revenue potential of this important new digital distribution channel,” said Colin Bohm, VP of television and head of Corus Kids, in a statement.
“Expanding into high-quality family content is an organic progression of our business,” added said Kin co-founder and CEO Michael Wayne. ”Kin’s female audience will naturally be drawn to Nelvana’s programming.”
Earlier this year, Corus led a $12 million Series C round in Kin. As part of that deal, the two companies launched Kin Canada, which combines Kin’s roster of Canadian lifestyle creators and Corus’ portfolio of women’s TV properties to offer brands custom content and advertising opportunities.Tags: Corus Entertainment, Kin Community, Nelvana, youtube marketing
