Dailymotion Offers to Pay Web Publishers Using Matchbox Widget
Using a Dailymotion-created widget, publishers can now embed a video carousel on their sites. The widget will then generate recommended videos using “Dailymotion’s proprietary search algorithm.” Publishers can also limit recommended videos using a variety of specifications including language- and keyword-matching.
And why would publishers want to embed this video carousel onto their sites, you may ask? Well for Dailymotion’s part, the video site is offering publishers a 20% cut of revenue generated from the player. Not bad if you consider the fact that Matchbox pretty much does all the work for publishers.
The lynchpin of the entire Matchbox strategy definitely relies on Dailymotion’s ability to give viewers the video content they want to watch. According to Dailymotion, content will be sorted based on the type information displayed within the keywords around it. The video site uses the the film “Argo” as an example. If an article talks about “Argo,” Matchbox will read this information and consequently display videos that pertain to “Argo” or videos of the like.
Matchbox is currently available to those who apply for it as a publishing partner.Tags: Dailymotion, Matchbox
