Dailymotion Orders Its Second Original, the Reality Show ‘Jump Outs’
Dailymotion has given the go-ahead to its second original series.
“Jump Outs,” a half-hour reality-competition show produced by US-based digital studio SXM Media, will pit teams of contestants against a real-life police unit called the “Jump Out Boys.” The goal of the contest is to get an amulet across an abandoned housing unit without getting caught or “arrested.” The show will be hosted by Jim Klock (“Murder Eleven”).
Dailymotion teased the project at MIPTV, the second original show it’s announced as part of its 2014 original programming strategy. In total, Dailymotion hopes to finance up to six digital projects.
As is the case with its first original, the Mario Batali-hosted “Feedback Kitchen,” Dailymotion has exclusive first-window rights to “Jump Outs.” The show will eventually be licensed and syndicated to other digital and TV platforms. Additionally, SXM CEO Tom Bannister tells Variety that the company is producing short-form versions of the half-hour episodes, which would be geared toward mobile platforms.
A pilot has already been shot by SXM. Bannister is listed as co-creator and executive producer for the show, and co-directed the pilot with Larry Laboe. Among other online projects produced by SXM is “The Comment Show,” which premiered on VEVO last year.Tags: Dailymotion, dailymotion originals, Feedback Kitchen, Mario Batali, Reality, sxm media, the comment show, Vevo
