‘The Dark Prophet’ Goes (Exclusively) to Dailymotion
Dailymotion, the world’s biggest video platform that reaches more than 120 million viewers per month, has picked up exclusive rights to distribute “The Dark Prophet,” a three-part conspiracy-thriller starring musician and actor Henry Rollins (“Sons of Anarchy”).
Written and directed by Evette Vargas, “The Dark Prophet” tells the story of Dai Shepherd, a gifted music student and math genius who uncovers some dangerous information about a top-secret government agency. The man suddenly finds himself framed for his girlfriend’s murder, and as a result, must go “underground” to prove his innocence and stop the agency from starting a new world war.
The character of Shepherd is played by Chase Fein (“We’re the Millers”), with Rick Gonzalez (“War of the Worlds”), Jesse La Flair (“After Earth”), Josh Meyers (“Bruno”), and Rollins rounding out the main cast.
Dailymotion has picked up the rights to the show via Renderyard Film Network, a platform that allows filmmakers to upload, screen, promote, and ultimately sell their work.
“We have worked hard to develop and deliver the high quality technology platform that both does justice to the work of young artists and provides a great viewing experience for our users,” said Marc Eychenne, VP of international content at Dailymotion, in a statement. “We are happy to be bringing more work from upcoming artists to our viewers through this exclusive partnership.”
“The Dark Prophet” was produced by Digital Reign Productions and Dream Hunters Studios. Executive producers include Vargas, Carlos Arriaga, Ariella Levitan, Shannon McIntosh, and Ricardo Reyes.
The series was screened during the 2013 Sundance Film Festival, and is now available to watch in full wherever Dailymotion is available.
