Distributor Cinedigm Names New CFO
Multi-platform distributor Cinedigm has named Jeffrey Edell its new chief financial officer, effective immediately.
“Having worked closely with [Edell] at DIC Entertainment while I was a director there, I know of his clear ability to create and manage a first class financial effort and team at a public company,” said Cinedigm chairman and CEO Chris McGurk in a statement. “Holding a CPA and with significant private and public company experience, as well as a deep track record in accounting, reporting, M&A activities and business development, Jeff will be a great asset to Cinedigm as we continue to focus on our ambitious business objectives.”
These include a new focus at the company to launch consumer-facing VOD channels for the distributor’s library of film and television titles. Last month, Cinedigm launched Docurama to focus on documentary and non-fiction programming.
Prior to Cinedigm, Edell was the CEO of Edell Ventures, a company he founded in 2009 to invest in and advise social media and entertainment companies. Before that, he was CEO of Inferno Entertainment, a film production and sales company behind features such as “The Kids Are All Right” and “The Grey.”Tags: Cinedigm, digital distribution, Docurama, Exec Moves, Jeffrey Edell, Movers, VOD
