Electus and FremantleMedia CEOs to Be Honored at MIPTV
Electus chairman and CEO Ben Silverman and FremantleMedia CEO Cécile Frot-Coutaz are among the four entertainment executives to receive MIPTV organizer Reed Midem’s Médaille d’Honneur Award at this year’s confab in April.
The Médaille d’Honneur is awarded to senior international executives who have, “through their talent, leadership, and passion, made a significant contribution to the world of television and to the development of the international TV community,” said Reed Midem in announcing the four recipients.
As chief executive of Electus, Silverman has overseen TV productions for a range of buyers in both traditional and digital media. His recent credits include executive producing the Golden Globe-winning “Jane the Virgin” for The CW, “Marco Polo” for Netflix, and “Running Wild” with Bear Grylls for NBC. He is also currently in production on several new series, including “Casanova” for Amazon.
Electus’s digital division, Electus Digital, also oversees video properties like CollegeHumor and WatchLoud, among others.
As CEO of FremantleMedia, Frot-Coutaz is at the helm of one of the most prolific producers of TV content, which has made significant strides in recent years to expand to digital. Prior to her current role, Frot-Coutaz was CEO of FremantleMedia North America, where she served as executive producer on hit series “American Idol” and “America’s Got Talent.”
Other executives to receive the same honor include Ricardo Scalamandré, head of international business for Globo Comunicacao e Participacoes S.A., and Irfan Sahin, CEO of Doğan TV Holding.
The 2015 awards will be presented by Reed Midem CEO Paul Zilk at a special dinner on Wednesday, April 15.Tags: Ben Silverman, Cecile Frot-Coutaz, electus, FremantleMedia, MIPTV, MIPTV 2015
