Emmy-Winning World of Wonder and Base79 to Create ‘Sub-Network’ of YouTube Channels
Emmy Award-winning non-fiction production house World of Wonder (“The Last Beekeeper,” “RuPaul’s Drag U”) has inked a deal with European MCN Base79 to create a “sub-network” of channels on YouTube.
Working closely with Base79’s LA team, WOW will seek out creators to partner with. Base79 will also oversee audience development, programming initiatives, and promotion across the main WOW Presents channel (67,000 subs) and the mini-network’s partner channels.
“World of Wonder’s YouTube channel, WOW Presents, has over 12 million views and is growing by nearly 2 million per month,” said WOW executive producer Fenton Bailey in a statement. “With our original digital productions and partner channels we are doubling down on our mission to celebrate the freak, the fun, and the fabulous in everyone.”
Other US-based premium content partners for Base79 include 20th Century Fox, The Jim Henson Company, The Associated Press, Thomson Reuters, and independent creators like The Dudesons. The MCN generates more than 800 million views per month across 1,500 channels worldwide.Tags: Base79, Emmy Awards, Emmys, MCN, World of Wonder, youtube
