Endemol Beyond USA Inks Development Deal with Andy Milonakis
Endemol Beyond USA, the digital arm of Endemol North America, has signed a multi-platform development deal with comedian Andy Milonakis.
Best known for the “The Andy Milonakis Show,” which was produced by Jimmy Kimmel and aired on MTV and MTV2 from 2002 to 2007, Milonakis will now develop multiple projects with Endemol Beyond USA. It’s similar to deals the digital network has signed with traditional and digital talent like Pitbull and Brittany Furlan.
The deal kicks off with “Andy’s Hungry Voyage,” an upcoming web series that will follow the comedian as he eats his way through Tokyo. The series will begin production in Tokyo on November 10, with fans being able to follow along on social media via the #Japandy hashtag.
Beyond “Hungry Voyage,” Endemol Beyond USA is developing “Andy Milonakis 2.0,” which it calls a digital update to the comedian’s MTV series. Overall, Endemol will also focus on producing new original formats for traditional TV and digital, including a gameplay format and a music-video series that are currently in the works, the company said.
New episodes of all digital content starring Milonakis will live on his three YouTube channels, as well as Endemol’s YouTube channel for unscripted and reality content, BeyondReality. This is Endemol Beyond’s second original reality series for digital, following “The #Muthaship” starring Emmy winner Drea de Matteo (“Sons of Anarchy,” “The Sopranos”).Tags: Andy Milonakis, Digital Development, Endemol, Endemol Beyond USA, MCN, Talent Signing
