Endemol and Youku Tudou Bring ‘Big Brother’ Reality Show to China
Endemol has partnered with Youku Tudou, China’s biggest online video platform, to launch the reality TV series “Big Brother” in the country.
“Big Brother,” a competition show involving housemates, challenges, and weekly eliminations (deemed “evictions” in keeping with the show’s co-habitation theme), has aired in over 70 countries, including the US, UK, Australia, Spain, Italy, and Israel.
The Chinese version of the show is now set to appear on Youku Tudou, thanks to its collaboration with Endemol China, which was established recently in Beijing.
Endemol China and the country’s main digital video platform will launch the reality series in China in early 2015. Episodes of “Big Brother” will then roll out over 10 weeks. Production on the show will start shortly, according to the entertainment companies.Tags: Big Brother, China, Endemol, endemol china, Reality Series, youku tudou
