Fandango Debuts Season Two of Awards-Season Interview Series ‘Frontrunners’
Movie website Fandango has premiered the second season of “Fandango Frontrunners,” an original interview series that shines a spotlight on actors and actresses likely to receive nominations during awards season.
Hosted by Fandango chief correspondent and veteran entertainment reporter Dave Karger, the first few episodes will feature the likes of Chiwetel Ejiofor and Lupita Nyong’o (“12 Years a Slave”), Ben Stiller (“The Secret Life of Walter Mitty”), and Octavia Spencer (“Fruitvale Station”). New episodes will roll out on Fandango through the next few months, leading up to the Academy Awards. With it being Fandango, each episode will also offer links to purchase tickets for the movies mentioned in the show.
Thanks to a collaboration with Dolby Laboratories, “Fandango Frontrunners” will be filmed at The Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, the site of next year’s Academy Awards.
Fandango is also announcing a partnership with the USC School of Cinematic Arts. On February 9, Fandango will film a special episode of “Frontrunners” on the USC campus. According to Fandango, in this episode “special award nominees” will be interviewed about their “frontrunner” journey, while also taking the time to answer questions from USC film school students in the audience. Guests will be announced at a later date.Tags: Academy Awards, Ben Stiller, Dave Karger, Fandango, Golden Globes, Interview Series, NBCUniversal, Oscars
