Fandor’s CEO Leaves Company, Former Facebook Exec Chris Kelly Steps In
Fandor, a movie streaming service with an indie/classic bent, will now have former Facebook executive Chris Kelly leading the company as its interim CEO.
Kelly steps into the role as now-former CEO Ted Hope leaves Fandor to work on a new movie production venture. Hope will still advise Fandor, the company said.
As Fandor’s top investor, Kelly comes to the streaming company from Kelly Investments. Kelly also previously worked at Facebook, where he started as a senior employee in 2005, ultimately serving as the general counsel and chief privacy officer.
One of the first companies Kelly invested in, Fandor has been expanding thanks to its recent partnership with Hulu (granting Fandor The Criterion Collection) and its work with film festivals and creators. Kelly said in a statement that the company has “a wide selection of partnerships set up for 2015.”Tags: chris kelly, Executive Hire, facebook, fandor, Hulu, ted hope, the criterion collection
