The Fine Brothers’ React to 1 Million Subscribers in 5 Days

/ Jul 28, 2014

Established on July 22 on YouTube, The Fine Brothers’ new React channel has reached 1 million subscribers in just five days. As the brothers noted in a recent tweet, they consider the feat a world record.

It certainly beats subscription records previously accounted for on the digital video platform, though YouTube is unable to confirm this. It’sGrace, Grace Helbig’s second YouTube home, reached the landmark a little over two weeks after she began the channel back on January 6, 2014. At the time, her older channel, DailyGrace, had about 2.2 million subscribers.

The accomplishment comes as no shock for those who know The Fine Brothers’ work and their large, devoted fan base. Their main YouTube channel currently has nearly 9.4 million subscribers, all of whom had easy access to the fact of the latest channel’s birth, with a trailer for React that still remains as TheFineBros’ featured video.

The Fine Brothers, Benny and Rafi Fine, have been creating digital video content since 2004. During this time, the creators have made their way over to brand status, which the new channel (and its rapid show of popularity) continues to cement.

Operating in multiple formats, the brothers created their latest expansion to include scheduled programming set for five days a week in the “React” format. However, this won’t stop them from continuing to feature the videos on their main channel, further indicating that The Fine Brothers have truly become a brand.

Other creators who’ve reached the 1 million subscriber mark in seemingly record time can’t live up to React. Though Helbig’s latest channel comes pretty close, we’ve got to consider that it was a big deal when Epic Meal Time gained 1 million subs in under nine months in 2011 and even more so when Smosh Games beat them out with 93 days in December 2012, according to a past report.

Though plenty of YouTube channels have made it past the 1 million subscriber mark at this point in time, doing so in five days stands out as a seriously big deal, and as a testiment to the loyalty of the Fine Brothers’ fanbase. The kind of traction you need in order to pull that sort of stunt goes beyond the powers of regular creators–you’ve got to be something more to accomplish that.
