Former Hulu Head of Sales Joins Jason Kilar’s Mystery Startup
The Fremont Project is, of course, a codename for the startup, but according to the company’s site, the startup is a “consumer-focused venture.” What that means is anyones’ guess, though early reports have suggested that the startup will be centered around the “living room.” That’s all we’ve got so far, but I’m going to take a swing at it and say Kilar is getting into the coffee table business.
Colaco will join Kilar’s mystery startup as SVP of advertising and business development where he will do something for someone. Again, there are very few details about this project. However, if Colaco can sell ads and develop business strategies as well as he did for Hulu, then Kilar and crew are looking at another success.
At the time of his departure, former Hulu interim CEO Andy Forssell wrote about Colaco’s accomplishments, saying, “As one of the original team members from the Fall of 2007, JP helped lay the foundation upon which everything since then has been built.”
Time will tell if Colaco can catch lightning in a bottle yet again, although things should become more clear once we all know what the Fremont Project is all about.Tags: Hulu, Jason Kilar, Jean-Paul Colaco, startup, The Fremont Project
