Former ‘SourceFed’ Host Meg Turney Joins Rooster Teeth
Meg Turney will be one of the new hosts for Rooster Teeth’s entertainment, gaming, and tech news channel The Know. Previously, Turney has served as an on-camera personality for Nerdist News and CraveOnline, as well as Philip DeFranco’s “SourceFed” series.
Earlier this spring, Turney announced that she would be leaving the show to pursue other opportunities.
One of her co-hosts at “SourceFed,” Elliott Morgan, who was one of the firsts to join “SourceFed” when it was launched in 2011 as part of YouTube’s original programming initiative, also announced his departure in April. He’s since joined Mashable to host the social news site’s daily “The Mashable Minute” series.
Turney will join The Know on June 1, the latest addition to an on-camera roster that includes Ashley Jenkins and Joey Aranda. The channel was launched by Rooster Teeth Productions a few months ago. To date it has amassed more than 280,000 subscribers, and will be launching a new weekly news series, “The Know It All,” in June.
Rooster Teeth, one of the biggest names in gaming culture online, has more than 7.5 million subscribers on its main YouTube channel. The brand is known for series like “Red vs. Blue,” “RWBY,” and “The Gauntlet.”
Turney’s hiring was first reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
