Freddie Wong & MOGA to Launch Contest For YouTube Filmmakers
Not since Jimmy Woods traveled across the country armed with a Nintendo Power Glove in 1989’s “The Wizard” has there been a video-game competition more fierce. Okay, maybe nothing will live up to the aforementioned film’s “Video Game Armageddon,” but this MOGA contest featuring Freddie Wong (FreddieW), Niko Pueringer (Corridor Digital), and Ryan Connelly (Film Riot) will still probably yield some impressive videos.
MOGA, makers of a handheld Android mobile gaming controller, are giving away RED Scarlet-X cameras to six content creators starting November 12. The contest, which Wong, Pueringer, and Connelly will be judging asks creators to upload videos to their YouTube channels showcasing a “unique video production challenge” that is issued every week.
Two creators will be chosen by the veteran YouTubers each week until November 26. At the end of the competition, all six contestants will compete in a final round of video production for the chance to win $25,000 big ones.
Rocket Jump — Wong’s production company — kicked off the competition by uploading a new mobile-centric video, which you can check out below.
