Amazon Orders ‘Sun Valley’ Project From ‘Bates Motel’ Creator Anthony Cipriano (Exclusive)

Netflix Stock Soars 16 Percent a Day After Earnings

Shares of Netflix surged to an all-time high of $395.63 on Thursday before closing 16 percent higher to $388.72. The gains came while the broader markets sunk. The catalyst for the climb was a strong earnings report on Wednesday, when Netflix said it earned 79 cents per share while analysts expected 66 cents.

FTC shrugs at Machinima/Microsoft marketing deal, says nothing is “legally enforceable”

Despite the hubbub over the revelation that well-known Youtube gaming channel Machinima takes “marketing partnerships” with game companies that essentially amount to paying vloggers to hype up followers about games, and the mounting gray area over whether such a thing is ethical, the FTC told Polygon that it can’t really do anything about it from a legal standpoint.

Two Strangers Teamed Up Online to Rob YouTubers, Made over $56,000

John T. Hoang Jr., a 34-year-old IT specialist had never met 28-year-old Matthew Buchanan when the two teamed up online to rob YouTubers out of more than $56,000. Hoang wrote a hacker malware program after Buchanan supplied him with the requisite information, when the two met up in a forum. Buchanan recruited Hoang with the query “Treasure huntin.’”
