Vimeo Nabs Day-and-Date Releases for Four Entertainment One Films

Entertainment One has cut a distribution deal with Vimeo that includes the day-and-date of four feature-length films this fall. Announced by both companies at the Toronto International Film Festival, the partnership will kick off with the North American release of Claudia Meyers’ “Fort Bliss” on September 19, followed by “Catch Hell” on October 10, “The Culture High” on October 17, and “A Merry Friggin’ Christmas” (starring the late, great Robin Williams) on November 7.

Vevo has hired David Rice to be chief product officer, which is a new position at the company.

Starting immediately, Rice will oversee product development for Vevo. This includes “conceiving, developing, and operating services” that deliver content across multiple screens, the music video company said in the announcement.

Maker Studios Inks Digital Distribution Deal with Sweden’s MTG

European broadcasting giant Modern Times Group has cut a digital distribution deal with Maker Studios.

Per the agreement, MTG will now deliver Maker Studios content via its ad-supported online video services in Scandinavia, the Baltic States, Czech Republic, Hungary, and Bulgaria.
