Fullscreen Adds New Social Features to Its Creator Platform
Fullscreen is rolling out some new community-centric features for its Creator Platform.
The Creator Platform, described by Fullscreen chief George Strompolos as a “mission control” for anyone looking to find success on YouTube, is designed to help creators build audiences and monetize views. It offers a variety of tools and services to make that a reality, including access to channel and revenue data as well as various third-party apps.
One surefire way to grow an audience and make money on the world’s biggest video site is to find others who are trying to do the same, and collaborate with them. With that in mind, Fullscreen is rolling out a new Community upgrade within the Creator Platform, which makes it possible for the network’s creators to find each other and start on that path to collaborated success.
Per a blog post from Fullscreen, the company has essentially created a mini-social network within the Creator Platform. Users will each have the ability to customize and design their profiles as well as do social things like post status updates, “friend” other creators, like and comment on other people’s content, and maybe most importantly, share videos to the Fullscreen community for feedback.
The hope is that by being active in such a way on the platform, creators will be able to find others who are like them, making future collaborations more possible.
And if that doesn’t completely work, the company is also debuting a “creator directory,” which will allow users to search for other creators by name, location, expertise, and interests, among other criteria. Going even further, the platform also has a new “audience similarity” function, which as the name suggests lets users discover other creators whose audiences are similar to theirs.
And if that fails, well then, I guess you’re on your own. Though Fullscreen says it still has more product upgrades on the horizon, so maybe there’s hope for you yet.Tags: Creator Platform, fullscreen, George Strompolos
