Funny or Die Launches ‘Even Less Respectable News Outlet’
In an effort to serve as a news outlet that takes itself even less seriously than the likes of “The Daily Show,” Funny or Die has come out with “Funny or Die News.” The new show will appear daily on Funny or Die beginning October 8.
Dan Abramson, editor in chief at Funny or Die, will head the fresh news show. It will be available for viewers on the comedy provider’s mobile apps as well as its online platform.
“Funny or Die News” will consist of multiple stories each day, ranging from the vague prediction of “five to 1,000” scoops, according to Funny or Die. Nate Dern, the network’s news editor, will lead the show’s writing team, which includes Matt Klinman, Melinda Taub, and John Howell Harris.
Citing The Onion and the aforementioned “Daily Show,” co-founder of Funny or Die, Adam McKay, explained, “It’s time for an even less respectable news outlet. We believe ‘Funny or Die News’ can fill that void.”Tags: comedy, funny or die, funny or die news, The Daily Show, The Onion
