Go ‘Inside the Oscars’ via New Series on Oscars.com
With the 86th annual Academy Awards nominations announced this morning, we’re about to embark on a six-week journey to the very center of the Hollywood hype machine, leading up to the industry’s most self-important ceremony on March 2.
So as everyone starts arguing (and complaining) about the nominees, and who got snubbed, and who is likely to win, and really everything associated with the Oscars, here is The Academy and ABC with a new web series, “Inside the Oscars,” which aims to feed that appetite in a certain way. The semi-weekly video series, hosted by “On the Red Carpet” host and “Good Morning America” contributing editor Rachel Smith, will bring viewers behind the scenes to share production details and other secrets about the entire Oscar experience, from this morning’s nominations to Oscar Sunday telecast itself.
For example, in this morning’s initial installment, the episode goes inside the nominations process, including how the list of nominees is protected, and what’s happening inside the theaters before the nominees are announced.
